This is O'keefe Country !!!

Geologic layers of rock and sediment as it has been for thousands of years !

My wife and recently returned from a week-long vacation in what is called O'Keefe country also know ask Abiquiu New Mexico and or Ghost Ranch - New Mexico

For those of you who are uninitiated: Georgia O'Keeffe was born in 1887, she was an American artist who painted nature in a way that showed how it made her feel. She is best known for her paintings of flowers and desert landscapes. She played an important part in the development of modern art in America, becoming the first female painter to gain respect in New York's art world in the 1920s. Her unique and new way of painting nature, simplifying its shapes and forms meant that she was called a pioneer

The Pedernal Mountain moved and inspired O’Keeffe as she studied and painted it from her studio at Ghost Ranch. After her death, her ashes were scattered atop Pedernal, as a testament to the bond she felt with the mountain
