Fall in North Texas

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

This images was taken on or about November 23rd, and we still had green leaves on most of the trees, no big splash of color here like you get in Northern states, nope, here in North Texas we drag the whole process out, one day the temperature is in the mid 80’s and the next day it is in the 50’s. The trees here don’t really know when they should get ready for their winter nap, so they hang on as long as possible, shedding a few leaves as the temperature changes from hot to cold and back to hot. A slow progression of a few colorful leaves, you don’t really know Fall has started until you go outside on a warm spring like day in the middle of December and realize that there are very few leaves left on the trees. This image was taken late this evening and it reminds me of the a quote by by one of my favorite photographers. To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.     Elliott Erwitt
